Did anyone (with FP in March 2002) talked to IIO?

RD july17, talked IIO on May1

was told my case not assigned to officer, and IIO expect my case will be assigned to an officer at the end of May.

It seems FP date does matter.

One of the post in VSC had some details. The person talked to IIO and was told that JULY cases were distributed to the officers sometime in FEB. And if the case was incomplete (without FP), the files were put on the backlog shelf. My RD is 7/19/01, ND 8/31/01, FP 03/26/02. Still no information.

Yes, FP date does matter in a sense.

But the cases are assigned according to the RD/ND, not FP date.
The FP date matters in a sense that it could slow down the process
of your case if by the time an officer picks up the files the FP
result is not there. My point is, as long as your FP result is ready
before the case is assigned ( which is NOT based on FP done dates ),
everything should be OK. If you feel that you are waiting too long
( since probably your FP was not ready when your case was assigned ),
you should try to speak with an IIO to find out why, and chances are
s/he might go check for you and pull out your files from the backlog shelf... Good luck!

FP is dependent on local office

When FP is done is determined by the local office. You applied i-485 with VSC and live in Baltimore,MD . Baltimore INS field office schedule your FP whenever they have time. That is the reason some people get fP notice fast and some slow.
In VSC your case is assigned to officer based on your RD (or ND as some IIOs indicated). When it is assigned to officer he looks whether your file has everything like FP results etc. If not he will simply put it on hold.

That\'s what I am trying to explain

Officer puts it on hold if FP is not complete. It will be picked up again when he is done with other cases (including August and September if their FP is complete)
