Did anyone travelled Canada on I-551 Stamp?

I know this might be silly question but I want to sure before I start my travelling plans to Canada? I didn't received my plastic and it could take a while, just curious to know, did any travelled to Canada on I-551 stamp on their PP?

I don't see any problem with that. You are waiting for plastic card, and your case is approved with valid stamp!!!

I travelled to ( and back from ) costa rica last week with only the stamp, card is on order.
No problem whatso ever. No I94 to fill out or questions about who you work for not even the photo and finger print. Only question asked was how long have you been a permanent resident.
 
Thanks. My long weekend is for canada trip. Hope canadian offiicers will let me in on GC stamp.
