If I remember correctly I-134 says that you have to provide supporting documents (like the ones you mentioned), but I definitely did not provide any, except tax returns (copies of 1040s) for the last 3 years.

Filed I485 in aug\'00 without I134. You need not file I134 in employment based application as per some law passed in Y2000. But you definitely need to file I9003 for spouse.
