Did anyone experience that green card is approved while EAD is pending

I recently got a RFE for my EAD application. I want to know if this will slow down my I-485 application. In other words, EAD and green card are totally seperate application or they are bound togerther? BTW, i also got a RFE earlier for my I-485 which i have replied.

what was the 485 RFE for? And What was the EAD RFE for?

RFE for I485: medical examination. RFE for EAD: unknown yet

EAD and 485 are separate process

most probably EAD RFE is for photos or signature cards?
