I had written a letter to the Chicago DOL sometime back about
labor application malpractices by consulting companies and
individuals filing in the state of IL with no apparent business
provisions and contributions to the state. This type of forum
shopping should be dealt with an iron hand. May be Chicago DOL
has started a sting investigation on all forum shoppers and hence
the delay. I sure hope that's the case. In Montana, officers are
physically visiting companies, may be we need that in Illinois.
I intend to pursue this issue at the Federal level. We have to
destroy corruption at it's root. This kind of looting of state
benefits should be diligently pursued and severed from it's
foundation. Please contact DOL and inform them of
malpractices you know of.

Ray S. i just want some clarification from you. i saw in this forum that YOU only wrote to Ill DOL and SESA that some people are filing LC from this state and getting labor very fast and some malpractices from consulting companies.
why you did like this,so many people will lost hope and everything.
see here in NY area, we are staying legal and our companies did file for labor in 2001 and still we didnt get any labor cleared from july 2001.still waiting becoz of 245(i) .illegal to legal
why dont you fight for this cause instead of causing problems for H1 holders who wants to file and get GC ASAP
we are paying taxes and social security also.
here also it started in Phily and boston regional areas.
they are checking all companes eventhough some companies are real.they are also getting so many queries.
please think twice before you do anything.

why its happening now only someone may be complained.

For any well established company it will not be a big deal to respond to the query, it will add to maybe a couple more months of wait, but compared to other states, 1-2 months is still peanuts - things are probably still moving within 6-9 months. Also realize that once the DOL gets through initial rounds of NOF, the companies which passed their scrutiny will probably not be NOFed again.
