A couple accidentally went to the US/CAN border and was stuck there and detained by IMO. They are over staying (for more than a year) in their current visit's visa.
Right now, she is released and her husband is still detained and posted at $10,000 bond.

What the options they have?
How can they get out off the mess?
What's next even she managed to get the money and get him out?
Will they get the money back?

Please help and give me a clue so I can help them.

Thanks.

How does this relate to asylum or asylees if I may ask?

You are in the wrong forum. This forum is for Asylum seekers in USA.

Please contact an immigration lawyer as your problem seems to be serious.

A good start will be to email the provider of this forum at rskhanna@immigration.com

I hope they are not from the Middle East or from a Muslim country. That would be so problematic since they have been profiling individuals from these countries! I think the best thing to do is, as others suggested, to hire a lawyer. If they are poor, try catholic charities or the bar association to get a lawyer with a sliding fee. Good luck
