Hi,

Iam getting married to a US citizen in December in India, and later we will start processing the K3 visa. It seems that the K3 processing duration would take anytime between 6 to 10 months.

So kindly provide details, whether it is feasible to apply for a tourist visa B2? to visit my husband as a visitor for few months?

If we can apply for B2 and is legal, is it advisable to apply before getting married and state the reason of intending to visit my husband later?
or whether it is good to apply for the same after we are married, reason being spending time with my husband for a short period while the K3 is being processed.
And also me being employed or unemployed would anyway have affect on the B2 or K3application?

Your responses and suggestions would be of great help. Thanks!

Yep- you can apply for a visit visa. However, the chances of getting one will be slim (especially since you have a US citizen fiance/spouse)- but theres nothing to stop you from applying.

In order to get a visa you will need to be able to prove strong ties to India (mortgage/lease agreement, letter from employer stating when you're due back, letter from school etc)

Being unemployed will not affect your spousal visa application, but it will hinder a tourist visa application.

It is perfectly legal to apply for a B-2 visa while your K-3 is in process. Chances of success may not be high, but it will not have a negative effect on your K-3 application.
