Details for applying Canadian PR

Somebody who has recently applied for Canadian PR from USA please post their details. I have looked at their website at:

- I am currently in the US. Would it be better to apply from US or from India? Is there any processing time difference if applying from India vs Applying from the US. What are the other considerations?

- Would I need to have attorney/lawyer or can I apply by myself?

USA is faster than India

USA takes 2 years. While India takes 3+ years.

USA has more chances of Waive the interview than India.

If you can come/allowed to visit USA after 2 years also at the time of interview arranged, then apply from USA. India is very slow.

I dont think, lawyer is required. Do it by yourself. It is not that difficult.

I second vsshah's suggestions. In addition, if you take a course in French, you can apply through Quebec. The processing time is 1 year there but you need to know French. They will call you for an interview and will test your French knowledge. It's not that difficult studying French. Good luck.
