I just got the I-485 inquiry status for myself and my wife saying our case is in detailed review. I know someone asked this before, any idea how long the detailed review will take ? and how can I know what they are reviewing?

my case:

cucurrent I-485/I-140 filed Dec. 2003
I-140 approved Aug. 2004

Thanks a lot

got the same reply

for my enquiry, my case has been pending since oct 2001 don't know how much of a detailed review they are doing.

my wife is undergoing the "detailed review" as well. Oct 2001.

My lawyer tells me that starting this year (jan) BCIS will tell the lawyers as to what part of the check is going on ... not that it will make a difference.

My wife and my case is also going under a "detailed review",well after contacting the local congress person I found that it is under name check. For all you folks with detailed review most likely your case is also undergoing name check. It can take upto 18 months to get a name check cleared.
Im still waiting ....................................

I am also on"Detailed Review" boat

I am also on the same "Detailed Review" boat as some of you. I am really discouraged to see this status reply today. I am thinking it might be the name check. I don't know when they sent in the request most probably some time in Oct/Nov 2004. I have given up hope of seeing my GC in 2005 as well  .

Detailed Review

I wanted to be an FBI Special Agent some day. Now that I realized FBI is such a bureaucratic organization, probably full of middle-aged laid back people dressed in shirts/ties/jackets, sipping coffee from 9 to 5...with my "detailed review" case stacked in one of the piles gathering dust...I'm really turned off by the idea of working with FBI, never never...

FINALLY, my luck has taken a turn!
I got my I485 approved. I got confirmation email and 3 days later I got the approval notice. Thanks for everyone on these portal. Some guys are really great to spend so much of their time in answering questions from total strangers. So I did my part by making a donation to the immigrationportal.org.
This portal was my main source of information for all my immigration questions.

I took a infopass appointment for passport stamping.
Here are my case details.
