Hey.. my father has been in the US since 2000 along with my mother, me and my brother. We all used to live in New Jersey, and I have an urgent need to complete my high school there.. In Edison.

His company has shifted his job to Atlanta, GA.. So we reside in Alpharetta, GA.

I am in my Junior Year, but i need to go to high school in Edison, NJ.

Is it a proposition that he find another job in NY, as his labor HAS been approved in this company.. Only his I-485 is pending.. How much of a risk would it be to change jobs as of now?

Thanks for the time..

Generally speaking your father can't change job just because his labor has been approved. He is free to change job when his 485 is approved.

But if he really needs to change job, there is also a provision that lets someone to change his job if his 485 remains pending for more than 6 months as long as his new job is similar to the old one.

There may be some I-140 issues as well (I-140 is approved and I-485 is pending for more than 6 months in case of concurrent filing?). Anyone Pls. add

if yes date of I-140 approval
date of I-485 filing.
is he still on H1 status
did he used EAD
