Derivative LUD today - Card production ordered. Primary pending?

Hi,
I just received an LUD on my case today. Mine says "Card production ordered". However I am the derivative. My husband's status still says "Pending". And he is the primary applicant.

Does it mean he is also approved? Can the derivative be approved before the primary? Does anyone have any experience on this? Should I call TSC to find out or will I end up in more mess if I did?
Any help or suggestion is appreciated.

Congratulations on your I-485 approval.
This scenario can happen because your husband case might be all clear for approval and pending approval for something else.

I have seen some cases on this forum( including my close friend's) where the derivative got approved but primary is still pending...
Just check if primary's NC/security checks are cleared.. Call TSC or take Infopass..( I personally reccommend Infopass)...

The last time we checked with TSC (1 week ago) and infopass (2 months ago), they said that my husband's (primary) name check is still pending.
They said that my name check was cleared. They also said that they cannot approve my case until my husband's name check is cleared since he is the primary applicant.
Last week when we called TSC, they said even my namecheck (Derivative) was pending (yes! very contradictory) again! :rolleyes:

Now it is all confusion! :confused:
I don't mind taking an infopass and checking it out but I don't want to ruffle the feathers so to speak.
My confusion is that if this is a true approval or an approval in error? and if my going and inquiring the status of the primary applicant result in more complications? and a longer wait? :rolleyes:

Oh BTW,
Here are our case details:


Labour: EB2(IND) PD June 2001
I-140: AD: Dec 2003
I-485: RD: June 2004
Transfer VSC-->> TSC : 03-02-2007 (Transfer)
I485 LUD: Don't really track it. The last one was on 05/08/07 for supposedly fingerprinting that was taken on 06/27/07 (yes! I have no clue how that happens :rolleyes: ).
And then today the derivative had an LUD 08/02/07 saying "Card Production Ordered". The primary LUD is still untouched since 05/08/07.

Are you on H1B or EAD?

Derivative application(approved or unapproved) will be revoked if primary case is denied...

based on your current status you can take a calculated risk..

If you r on EAD or not working .. I will not contact TSC
If you r on H1B.. once you receive the card.. you will loose H1B status and if your primary case gets denied.. then your family will not have any fallback status... in this case I would contact TSC and take that risk

I did not think of that situation! :eek: Thanks for the tip.
I am still on H1B and my husband is on EAD.
If I am going to lose my H1B status once I Get the card, then I should better get things cleared up before then. This is such a mess! When I first saw the msg, I was all :D , then I was :) , then I was :cool: , then I was :confused: and now I am :eek: .
 
COngrats. Just wait a few days.Some people even get GC directly without any LUD. You have not made any mistake. Just wait. You can pretend to have read your USCIS email in 2 weeks from now, who knows both of you maybe approved by then. If you really want, I would just recommend your husband call and see what his status is without mentioning anything abt yours.

While mana telugodu makes a good point, I would first stop freaking out ! Because, there is no fault of yours, if there is a problem, that is...

waiting a fewdays is probably good idea... if you are regular on this website, you would know some derivative applicants got approval after few days of primaries... maybe there are some vice-versa also... act like you didnt check your status online.. wait for the letter, check your hubby's status, and go kick their butt...

This is so bizarre........
My husband (primary) still does not have any LUD on his case since 05/08/07 and I am having tons of them. I received another LUD today saying "On August 07, 2007, we mailed you the new card to the address we have on file".
I have had three LUDs so far since they approved my case...........
Looks like they are following the protocol in my case except that my case being approved is an exception in itself!!!!!
