Hi, everyone
My name is Jason. I am new here.
I recently discovered this forum and fould this forum to be one of the most helpful place regarding immigration issues. :)

I recently got my FP notice and I need your advice on a number of questions I have, thanks a lot for helping.

here is mine and my father's timeline (derivative asylee)

RD 8/24/01
ND 9/18/01
FP 06/22/04 both mine and my father's arrived on same date at our apartment.

mother's I-485 timeline (principal asylee) (lawer has all the document)

RD 08/00
ND prabably 1 or 2 months later

NO FP yet!

my question :

1. how come I recieved the FP notice and my mom has not?
could it be they haven't updated the address on my mother's application?

2. how can I check and verify that the BCIS got the new address for my mom?

3. Is it possible for derivative asylees to get a final approval before the main asylee's approval?

4. strange probably, my father and I both recieved the PF notice on the same date again 10 days later, first 2 letters arrived on June 15th and 2 more letters arrived on June 25th. Same content only difference is the first 2 letters were "I-797" and later ones were "I-797C" notice of actions.

Why they sent us essentially the same notices twice?

5. our I-485 applications were sent to NSC and this FP notice came from VSC
I wonder why this is, because I would expect only my local BCIS center or the NSC would send me notices regarding my I-485, is this assumption right?

6. most immportant question. my family was planning to move to another state, then the FP notice came, should we stay at our current apartment for 1 more year to see what's next? We were expecting our cases to be processed around 2007-2010 periad so we didn't expect anything could heppen in between.

plz advice on my concerns, any input is welcome.

thanks for reading and responding to my concerns :)

Jason, you might want to try sending AR-11 forms for your mom to Nebrasks and also to the local USCIS office where you live

the change of address forms has already been sent, that's why I want to know if there is a way to verify wheather or not they updated on their end.

You can try your luck with the 800 customer service number. Do not have too much hope though they will be helpful.

Is it possible that they started to process the derivative asylee before the principal asylee? or sending out FP notices becoming a standard procedure even they are not about to process your case? advise greatly appreciated :)

In my opinion all these FP requests are being done as routine and do not signify any real processing on the application. I also think that this request for FP will also be considered "Improved" processing by the Department of Homeland Security as now they are actually doing something with the file and people are not waiting to hear for years.

What I am actually afraid of is that this agency will keep on sending these FP requests routinely every year....I will quit rambling now ....

Regards,

Form AR 11 does not automatically update your information at CIS. It is purely for the Federal Registrar. You MUST call the toll free number and provide them details of what information needs to be changed. They will in turn send these changes to the appropriate Service Center and you then receive a written notice from NSC stating what changes have occured. I found this out the hard way.

thank you so much for sharing this valueble information with us.
btw what's happened with your hard way experience if you don't mind telling us.
