Derivation Citizenship for My Child

If I applied for citizenship through naturalization and my child falls under all the categories for citizenship through derivation, how would I get a name change for my child? Could I ask the judge during the Oath of Allegiance to change my child's legal name or would I have to change my child's name a different way?

The naturalization process does not accommodate name changes for children. You'll have to request your child's name change in a local court process separate from naturalization. Contact your City Hall for information or look up information about your state's court system.
