deported...need to go back

I need some help and hope somebody can answer this.
Lived 9 years in the US and got deported with 10 year restriction. All the papers my Ex had filed were missing in the file which made me over 8 years ilegal in the US. Since he was abusive and I have 2 kids still in the states...born there as well, I need to know what I can do? Any good answer here? Thanks...
 
There are some exceptions to the 3 or 10 year bars (period spent under 18 years of age, battered spouses and children, extreme hardship etc). Best would be to consult an attorney. Good luck.
 
Well I know, but since I am now not in the US I am having difficulties to get one. I was thinking to see the american embassy for that issue. They should be able to help me in that matter...Any idea or answers to that?
