Denied I-130/I-485, What now?

Four weeks ago we were notified that our I-130/I-485 petitions were denied/considered abandonned as we failed to appear before an immigration officer in April. My employment visa was also retracted at the same time - ergo I lost my job. The problem is that we never received such notice from CIS!

We haven't moved or otherwise been unavailable. It should be noted that one of the fingerprinting notices received last year had an error (typo) in the address (we called CIS and they confirmed they had the correct address on file). As such, we believe that the above notice may again had a typo in the address and therefore wasn't received.

We made an appointment with Detroit CIS to find out what we could do and was informed that we could send a letter to dispute the decision, which we did the same day. HOWEVER, we were not told that such letter needed to be accompanied with a check for $110! We just found out about this fact today! Of course, by now the 30-day appeal limit has passed - does anyone know what to do next??

It would be better to send a new 130/485 application

It would be better to send a new i-130/i-485 application because the first one have been denied and the appeal time expired . It would take less time .

You should file a motion to reconsider, and tell them that no notice was received. talk to a lawyer. i think you have to do that w/i 30 days.
