Demand Draft & Photograph issues

Hi all!

My company has made a payment of $670 ($335 for me and my wife) to NVC. Based on this, what would be the amount that I need to pay at the time of my interview at the Consulate? If so, what would be the breakup?

Regarding photographs, website states that no longer do we require to take side profile pictures, but one of the handouts, mentions clearly the right-ear profiile.

Can somebody who has already experienced similar issues please clarify?

Thanks and greatly appreciate your time!!!!

Regards

Which consulate are you interviewing at?

You have paid all the immigration fees- depending on where you are interviewing, you may need courier fees etc.,
Regarding the photos, most consulates are still asking for ADIT style side profile PP photos. It does not hurt to carry both kinds.

Oops! Forgot to mention that my interview is at Mumbai consulate.

On the photographs: I was planning to carry both style photographs and even if they are not ok, I heard, there's a facility to get the photographs done inside.

Regarding Demand Draft carrying all combinations for 2 people and finally realizing that I don't have to pay at all will be a pain. As per your reply, if my company has already made a payment of $670 (for me and my wife) and since we'll be collecting the passports ourselves (No courier charges), it appears I may not have to pay anything. Correct?

Also since I did not receive my packet IV, I went to the consulate to collect the same. They provided me blank DS-230 I and II. My attorney provided me a filled copy of DS-230 I and II that was sent to NVC. Could I use the same copy provided to me by my attorney or do I have to fill in this information on the DS-230 handed out.

Thanks for your time!

You can use the prefilled DS forms...

supplied by your attorney. Make sure you don't sign the part II- that needs to be signed in front of the consular official. Also remember to carry the receipt of payment to NVC/state dept. This process of paying in the US is relatively new and embassy staffers are asking for receipts to make sure the fees have been paid.;)

Fee and photographs

You have already paid the visa issuance fee and you are not liable to pay anything else.

Since you belong to Mumbai your observation is correct. There is
no involvementment of courier.

You need to carry 3 side profile ( Immigration style ) photos.
Sign 2 of them on FRONT BOTTOM . Do not sign the 3rd photo.

Apart from the above, you will need 2 regular passport style
photographs. One for the Lab report and the second one for
the physician's report.

In my case, my employer made the payment for me and my spouse $670 in total and the payment was made in the form of cashier's check to NVC.

Company takes the bill

That is interesting.
Aren't Visa fees generally paid by the self?

Usually the employer company takes the bill tab. If the company doesn't want to pick the tab, then the individual have to take it out from his/her pocket. Big corporations usually pick up the employer's fees along with the depenedents fee also.

Usually small companies make the individual pay their immigration related fees.

Thanks.

Immigration fees. Yes. In my case the company paid all lawyers and govt fees. But when it came to "VISA" fees, they did not citing that the visa fees are your own personal fees for entering the country.
