Delayed interview and how long does EAD take

I applied for asylum in June and they sent me a confirmation letter and i went for my biometrics early July. i did not receive an interview date as yet since then. i moved to a different state mid august and i sent the change of address within 3 days. i wrote a letter to the Mesquite office asking if they had sent me the interview in case i had not received and they said they could not help me and referred me to a field office in Irvin Texas. i also tried to call the National Customer Service Center but they said they could not help me since it was a asylum case with a receipt number that started with (ZHN***). i then went to the field office and they told me to write a letter to the Houston office and i haven't heard from them since then beginning of October. i am about to get to 150 days end of this month November. My questions are:
1. Are they others that have had delayed interview dates and how long is it supposed to take? What can i do?
2.How long does the EAD take?

If you moved to a different state, is that state in the jurisdiction of Texas? If not, they your case will be transferred to the office which has jurisdiction on your case which if you ask me takes a long time to process and sometimes gets lost as well.
So, I guess you need to follow up and figure out who has authority over you and for the ead, you have to wait 150 days to apply and 180 days to receive one. Now that you changed the state, you are looking at even longer delay.

when you say the same jurisdiction do mean the same State when i applied or one of the 8 asylum offices across the country?

6th month waiting for interview notice

Facing the same problem.
USCIS received my application letter on May 31, 2013
I received biometrics notice June 3 or 4 2013
I took the biometrics on June 19, 2013

It has now been my 6th month waiting for the interview notice.
my biometrics and receipt number shows the office as ZSF/(Zone San Francisco). I called them to find out about the status of my application. They told me to send then an inquiry letter. I never did. I am feeling helpless. Anyone facing the same issues. Please share your experiences. It would help a lot to know I am not the only one with this problem.

I never changed an address. I am still where I was when I send my application.

Once 150 days have elapsed, if you have not been called in for an interview and you have not requested the delay, you can file your application for employment authorization. They will have to issue your EAD within 30 days of your application.

You can find the instructions for the I-765 at:

http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-765instr.pdf

The section that pertains to applying based on a pending asylum claim can be found on page 7

Late interview notice

Thanks majunznk.

I heard that if we applied for EAD they US government would think that we came here for work rather than seeking asylum. That is what stopping me. Do you know anyone who applied for asylum and later EAD and finally managed to get the asylum grant?
