Delay in Processing by Vermont Center

Why is Vermont Center delaying the 485 Processing? Their processing date not moved from Feb 15 2002 long time. But Texas, Nebraska and California are moving fast.

Texas used to process 2001 cases they are catching up to the date of vermont Jan 2002.

Nebraska used to process september 2001 cases they also moved to jan 2002.

California used to process december 2001 cases they also moved to april 2002. They are ahead of vermont processing dates.

Is there any reason why is it happening? We need to call them or need to follow this issue with any senator and make it straight.

People are waiting for years 2 -3 years just for approval of 485 process.

I don't see why they need to that long.

1) Medical report will be given by doctors clearly. They are doctors suggested by INS so it should not take that long to confirm about it.

2) Regarding the Finger Prints as and when we finger prints they will enter into their system. I don't see any delay in they verifying it across other criminal records database.

3) Also since they have our social security number they can run the credit and other kind of reports and get the history about us.

4) They can talk to our employers and lawyers about employment related questions.

5) Based on our social security they can talk to IRS and get a quick report about our Taxes.

6) Regarding the verification of Birth Certificate i don't know how do they crosss check it.

But including everything it should not take more than 6-7 months to process a 485 case.

We should gave a serious complaint about this to the President by presenting a memorandum.

Someone should initiate the process and straighten this issue so that the future immigrants will not have this kind of problems.

It is Govt. - they can take any amount of time for anything. So just be patient (or fight backlogs or pray or whatever).

It's mostly because of me, whenever I join some line everything gets screwed up. I have my 485 exactly in middle ND 12/2002 so since my application is in line everyone is else is in a mess. I promise that as soon as my application is approved things will improve.

Also most of their systems (USCIS) are not integrated with other systems like FP (FBI) or IRS etc. so don't think about fast results there. Just FYI In year 2003 VSC moved only three months in I-485 processing yeah right just three months and in year 2004 they just moved 14 days from 1/31/2002 to 2/15/2002 yeah just 14 days of progress in 5 months.

(And don't forget, they are clearing all the backlogs  )
