Delay in I-485 approval RD 4/2001- Help!

file move to exam unit

Hello all:

Does anyone know what this means:

Senator I have contacted, she told me that my file has moved to
exam unit as of Oct, 31. I don't know what that mean?
I don't think it is signed to an officer yet.
I have called NSC myself. IIO told me that my file moved to the
exam unit. She told me that it took two weeks to sign to an
officer.

Any thoughts?
