No Title

Hello folks:
It is terrible to see this agonizing wait for a Permanent Residency to this great country... Many of us have to face this agonizingly slow task and as soon as we are through we forget about it! It is high time we, the taxpayers did something about it!
I propose the following:
Everyone (including anyone that you know) should ask their lawyers to petition AILA to lobby in the US Congress and House (in fact, our employers can write a petition too), to streamline the Labor Certification approval process so that Labor must be certified in a reasonable amount of time (like 1-2 months instead of 1-2 years!).
Please post your thoughts on this...
Thanks,

Case update

Case filed: First week of October 2001
Case type: EB2, non-RIR
Notice from DOL for posting ad. received: 1st week of December 2001
Ad. posted last week of December 2001
Ad status: No resumes received
Attorney will be submitting \'Recruitment report\' some time next week.

I guess from here the case will go to the federal labour office.

Hi Tim can u give me some info

Hi Tim
Are you working in IT field if so which paper you advertised.
I am about to file Paper Advertisement

Not in the IT field

I am a mechanical engineer.
I beleive the Labor officer specifies where the ad. needs to be posted and for how many days.
Either way, my ad. was posted in \'The News Journal\'.

Update

Wow this Non-RIR process is not as straight forward as I had thought it would be. My company (unfortunately) received some resumes in response to the advertisement. (Fortunately) None of those candidates had the necessary skills and/or the required qualification. So currently we are trying to close the case by sending the \'recruitment report\' to the labor officer. So much paper work moving back and forth, mailing receipts yada yada yada ..................
