Decision was not made on individual hearing

Hello everyone! Does anyone know how long does it take for an immigration judge to make a decision on asylum case? Asylum was not granted or denied during the individual hearing at court.

I know how it sounds but this is for my friend. So I’m not sure about the details of his testimony. But he just wanted to know how long do people wait for judge’s decision.
I myself am still waiting for my asylum interview since 2015.
