Deciding to drop the US visa application - best procedures

Hi,

I am 5 months into my application for a US fiance visa and due to the fact that my fiancee hasn't managed to find a job in the US and we have nowhere to live over there, she is deciding to apply for the UK partner visa as I have a good living arrangement here and a decent amount of freelance work.

We're due to get the appointment through for the embassy interview any week now.

So, two questions: 1) what is the best way to let them know and 2) can this affect things when, after her patriation, we decide to go and live in the US. Would they hold it against us?

Many thanks.

A1: Write to the consulate to let them know that you both no longer intend to pursue a K-1 visa. Worst case, do not turn up for the K-1 interview.
A2: No they will not hold this against you if in the future you intend to pursue a GC via marriage to your fiancee

1) what is the best way to let them know and 2) can this affect things when, after her patriation, we decide to go and live in the US. Would they hold it against us?
