Check Encashed date

Hi,
Since DC is not providing any information regarding the revalidation of HI Visa, why dont we add Check Encashed date. This will give us an approx. DC date.

SL date = 12/01/2004
Check cashed = 12/17/2004

in my case
SL date = 1/7/2004
Check cashed = 1/12/2004

By looking at the above date, i can say that St. Louis had started work on my application before 1/12/2004.
As far as i know, our applications should be registered as soon as our Checks are encashed.

I think this will help us all.

I tried calling DC 2 or 3 times and each time I had to wait for more than an hour and finally I gave up. I am in California either I have to get up at 5 in the morning or get out of work by 2 in the evening to make a call and hold while you hear just nothing but the deafening sound of silence on the other end.

Is the check cashed in SL or in DC. Looks like November is almost done.

Now it should be our turn.
 
checks are cashed in SL, the application is not processed untill the checks have been cashed. If we get the check cashed date we can estimate the processing time based on it.
I called DC, the rep. told me that they are not giving any information regarding visa revalidation.

Good news!! I got my passport today from FedEx. H1-B stamp date is 2/26/04, it was picked up by FedEx on 2/27/04 and delivered today. Seems like they are taking almost exactly 12 weeks to process from date of arrival at St. Louis. Good luck to you all, feel free to post any questions if you want to know more.

I dont think that it is possible to estimate the response time for the application as in case of Daroori in the november thread, he already received the passport and his banker's check has not yet been encashed. Moreover, its mostly around 12-13 weeks from SL date, other than one off case where it is delayed or comes sooner, thus, I guess, even the DC date does not matter as such. So, hopefully we all should be getting our visas approved in this month. All the best to everybody guys.....cheer up

I don't know when the check was cashed, I bought a Money Order from my bank, that is like a Demand Draft, basically its like buying a check for teh amount you want. So I would not know when it may have been cashed because it was not written from my own bank account but from the bank itself.
Dept. of State do not accept personal checks and I do not know how you can check what date a Cashiers Check or Money Order was cashed.

Yes, you can.
Call the bank and ask them, then they will tell you when it was cashed. Sometimes they will give you a 800 number where you can call and enter your amount then it will give you the date it was cashed out. It's all automated.

I have been silently following this thread.

I don't remember the exact dates,

But mine was Fedexed on 6th December to St. Louis.

Received next day.

Received Stampled passport today by Fedex.

Approved on 01-Mar-2004.

My wife says, expiry date is 23-Feb-2009, which I find surprising, I will check after going home.

On the old VISA it mentions "Cancelled without prejudice", I assume that is normal.

Even though its a standard process, its stressful to live in a foreign country without a passport for 3 months - they should do something about it.

Different between Exp. date and PED

Does anyone know the difference between Exp. date and PED?

In my case, Exp. date is Feb 02, 2009
PED is 23 OCT, 2005 (i.e. end of current H1 period)

Sorry to say taht after 3 months wait, I got my PP WITHOUT Visa stating that I should go back to my home country and appeared for interview......
THATS SUCKS.. If they have to do this, Why not they tell me Once they received my Application.....

FYI - belongs to Spacial Registration Country
