Getting ready

We went through all of our paperwork to prepare for the interview next week.
All papers are neatly sorted. Made copies of each for IO.

Interview done today. Very quick and friendly officer. He asked all those standard questions as outlined in this forum on other threads. Nothing unusual. Kept copies of documents to prove we are living together and have joint assets. Looked at wedding photos and it was all over in 15 minutes.

Got the interview letters today, while the status online hadn't changed. Interview date: March 31, 2009. Wife and stepkids 3 different times, same day. Is this usual?

Got mine and my daughter same day same time. However, she couldn't have hers and me mine at the same time because we share a sponsor who was needed for both interview. Hers was 2nd fl mine was 3rd. So she was told to wait for me to finish mine, then go in with her. Hers was basically a formality. Nothing much. Good Luck!

We had our interview today. Oldest stepson was planned for 9:00, wife for 9:30 and youngest stepson for 10:00 AM. We were there at 8:30.
We didn't get called in till 10:10 AM, all of us together. We were never separated. The four of us were sworn in right away. After that it was smooth sailing. Asked for driver's licenses, passports, wife's EAD and SS card and all three APs. Nothing else in our 15 pounds of paperwork was even looked at. Just going through the forms, asking the normal questions regarding arrests, drugs, terrorism. Half-way through (smiling): "It looks like I have no choice but to approve you."
The whole interview was relaxed, conversational, pleasant. It lasted about 30 minutes in all, most of that just going through the three sets of forms and typing up the three approval letters. Cards should be in the mail within 2 weeks. We didn't request passport stamps.

so I had my interview today. It went good, no weird questions. We got sworn in, then the IO started with the questions towards my husband (USC) about 8 of them. She asked for my passports and then asked me about 4 questions about our relationship and then about 10 of the yes or no questions. after she asked for pics, we gave her 3 albums, she scanned the pics and took 3. The only douments she asked for our joint assets .She then asked 2 questions about the co-sponser and then she wrote in my passport- " interviewed 4/6/2009. A#...... pending: I485 Adjustment of status" She then said you will receive my decision in the mail within a couple of weeks. What do you think that means. I'm not worried now because it seem to have went smooth to us, but should I be worried? does that mean STOKES. She gave no indication to her decision. Her demeanor and facial expression was hard to read. Please give me your thoughts.

Reading your experience, I dont think there is anything to worry. Check your online status often next 2-3 days. There might be an update as early as the evening of interview. My interview officer indicated he will update the system at end of his day and an update on case came at 9PM of same day. He never indicated either in clear terms that he will approve it, but made it plenty clear that he will approve it. If there would have been some issue, they would have told you and asked you to produce further evidence and would have given you a letter asking for evidence and sending it over. If they have not asked anything, everything is good. Hold in tight for a day or so and you will know.

Thank you. I pray to God that that's the case. My husband is flipping out more than me, because the IO asked him most of the questions. He's wondering what he could of said differently. He only got one thing wrong and to me it was an honest mistake that he corrected, which was " what country is your wife a citizen of ? "and he answered my country of birth instead of my country of citizenship which is where he was a citizen of also until he got naturalized in the US. then after twice of her asking he said the correct one. Which I think should not be counted against us too much because I was born in the country he said first, honest mistake. I know he was really nervous though, because she just started asking him all the questions instead of me, the applicant.

Received GC. Its valid for 2 years. I-485 welcome letter says can apply for removing condition 90 days before expiry. So 1 yr 9 months from now will have to apply for I-751 and 2 yrs 9 months from now will apply for N-400. I guess still have long way to go with USCIS.
