you can get a good idea of where you are in relation to others in your month by looking at www.rupnet.com which will give you a snapshot by month/year etc. Its pretty neat but need more folks to put thier details in to get the accuracy.

Please update the forum having this type of problem

i have submitted my I-140 and I-485 in feb 2003 and I got receipts for I-140 and AP. But not for I-485 and I-765(EAD)
Because at that time app. fee were reduced and INS computers are not able to generate the receipt. Is there any way that we can get receipt numbers or receipts from INS(BCIS).

Thanks

Got 2 months notice for layoff. My 180 days after 485 ND is on jul 18th.Please help.I need a job in mechanical engineering.I now have EAD.

I finally got my I140 approved.
Here is timetable.

Concurrent filled I140/I485/I131/I765 for me and my wife
EB3/RIR case

ND 12/05/02 LIN 03 051 5XXXX
RFE issued on 02/18/03 -Ability to pay wages
RFE responded on 04/08/03
AD I140 – 04/11/03

I have the best immigration lawyer in the US. He did a wonderful job. My sponsor company had only 5 employees, filled losses for the last 2 years in a row. Despite of all this I got approved.
Hang in there guys and get yourself good lawyers.

It's been morn than 3 months for EAD, is it because that I just got 140 cleared? And, does anybody know how to count 180 days for 485 for concurrent filing? Is it from the RD of 485, or from the date that 140 approval? Thanks...

From RD of I485 application. (Pl. note that final regulations on AC21 have not been published yet).

actually there is a clarification on murthy's site. the 485 is from the start of filing provided the 140 is approved. if 140 is not approved even after 6 months of concurrent 485 - and you lose the your job ( say ) - you pretty much lose everything - even if the EAD is given. essentially the clarification is everything is same as seperate filings except for the time advantage i.e 140 must be approved for everything else to hold good

Thanks

Thanks for the info. I asked a lawyer through email and he also said it's from the date of 140 approval...

could one person has two 485 application in INS?

My friend has a situation like this:
1. filed EB2 140/485 concurrently. EB2 140 was denied, so the 485 is closed.
2. His lawyer guessed this sitution from his other case in advance, so he filed another EB3 140, and the receipt date is earlier than the 140/485 denial date. So lawyer filed motion to reopen the old 485.
3. At the same time filed another new 485 in case the motion is denied.

Now it seems they reopened the old 485. This means he has two 485 applications in process, is this all right? Would this create any problem? Does he need to withdraw one application? Thanks...

tajiren,

Appears like your friends lawyer keeps himself ahead of the game.
Shouldn't your friend rely on the advice from his lawyer? I am sure his lawyer knows what to do here.

actually

my friend told me that it's his lawyer who screwed up his old 140. So even lawyer did sth nice on the new 140 as a fix, he doesn't always trust lawyer's judgement, that's why he is asking around for advice...
