Fellow 485ians,
I called the 1-800 number for my Dec 01 case around the 20 month mark and requested to know my case status. No RFE or 2nd finger prints yet. The nice lady filled out some form on the phone and sent it in. Today I received a letter from BCIS stating:
"On 8/18/2003 you, or the designated representitive show below, contacted BCIS about your case. Some of the key information is below..."
"Our computer system shows that your I-485 petition/application is still pending Service consideration. As of 07/22/2003 your case has been through the initial review and now we are waiting for the background checks to be completed. Please allow a minimum of 60 to 90 days for this to be completed."
At least I now know my case has been through an initial review???
Is this a standard response or does the fact that they mentioned a recent date indicate signs of progress?
