DCF for parents at delhi
hello people i would like to share my DCF experience which i filed for my parents. i went to delhi INS office on my 60th day to file DCF and it went pretty normal without any problems. i went to the embassy with my parents at 8.30 but they start taking DCF people at 9. once we get inside there was a seprate sitting area for the USC and their family we told to sit down there
after a while a security guard come and ask everyone to give him their passport and he went back inside the door, he came back and hand us our passport back along with a BADGE wich we have to hang on our shirt which said that we have been escorted by the guard to the INS office which located bhind the embassy we have to walk thru the back door. once we get inside the office they told us to sit down till 10 i think the officers were busy in metting or something. there was other 5 or 6 couples came to file DCF for their spouse i was the only one who was fliling for parents. againe they took every USC passport and took inside the office and after a while a indian lady came on the window and start calling the names. when my turn came she asked for all the papers along with I-130 surprising that she gave us the passport size pictures back i thought they want 3 pic of each person but she handed back to me. and she asked couple of questions to me that why i came here to file for my parents and did i stay 60 days or not. she also asked my parents how many childerns they have and what kind of business he have in india and what will he do with his business once he get his interview.
lady seems preety nice and it didnt took more then 10 min she checked all the papers and marks a round circle around the names on each copies with red pen dont know why. at the end she hand us a letter which states that they received our application and they will hand over to the mumbai consulate and we will get a writeen notification of our application within 90 days. also there was some number of bombay consulate and she asked us to go to front window and pay 185$ to the cashier. we had a exect change of 185$ so i paid the fees to cahier and we left the building.
it was good experience i was wondering if anyone who filed the dcf here in delhi does the indian lady suppose to take the application or there were a conular officer who take the application. well anyways there was my experience i am leaving back to USA next week and i will keep you guys posted as the application progress.
