DCF for parents at delhi

hello people i would like to share my DCF experience which i filed for my parents. i went to delhi INS office on my 60th day to file DCF and it went pretty normal without any problems. i went to the embassy with my parents at 8.30 but they start taking DCF people at 9. once we get inside there was a seprate sitting area for the USC and their family we told to sit down there
after a while a security guard come and ask everyone to give him their passport and he went back inside the door, he came back and hand us our passport back along with a BADGE wich we have to hang on our shirt which said that we have been escorted by the guard to the INS office which located bhind the embassy we have to walk thru the back door. once we get inside the office they told us to sit down till 10 i think the officers were busy in metting or something. there was other 5 or 6 couples came to file DCF for their spouse i was the only one who was fliling for parents. againe they took every USC passport and took inside the office and after a while a indian lady came on the window and start calling the names. when my turn came she asked for all the papers along with I-130 surprising that she gave us the passport size pictures back i thought they want 3 pic of each person but she handed back to me. and she asked couple of questions to me that why i came here to file for my parents and did i stay 60 days or not. she also asked my parents how many childerns they have and what kind of business he have in india and what will he do with his business once he get his interview.
lady seems preety nice and it didnt took more then 10 min she checked all the papers and marks a round circle around the names on each copies with red pen dont know why. at the end she hand us a letter which states that they received our application and they will hand over to the mumbai consulate and we will get a writeen notification of our application within 90 days. also there was some number of bombay consulate and she asked us to go to front window and pay 185$ to the cashier. we had a exect change of 185$ so i paid the fees to cahier and we left the building.

it was good experience i was wondering if anyone who filed the dcf here in delhi does the indian lady suppose to take the application or there were a conular officer who take the application. well anyways there was my experience i am leaving back to USA next week and i will keep you guys posted as the application progress.

the documents u need at the delhi consulate are as followes

for USC you need complete I-130

a copy of your neatrulization certificate

copy of your US passport including the arrival stamp page they want to see if you stayed over 60 days or not

your parents birthcertificate/or copy of their passport

parents marriage licence

thats the all documents you need to submit if you're filing for the parents at

at delhi consulate.

(the lady told me it would take upto 30 days for the interview) i think thats the fastest way if you want to bring your parents in USA.

Thanks Srinikicool for your post.
I was looking for similar post for my parents too.
I am kind of in coufusion to file for my Mother.

First of all. When you went to embassy. Did they ask you or check your parents age bcz as far as i know that the only time/way you can file for your parents DCF is when they are 70 years older.

So, my mother just turn 69 and just wondering if i can go India or not to do DCF. Please let me know about age.

Also, Are they asking both Documents, Passport and B'certificate.

Thank you,

I searched on intenet that who can file the DCF under that i saw that you can file for your parents DCF. also u dont have to stay over 60 days if and only if your parents are over the age of 70 in that case u dont need to stay there 60 days u can go and file on your first day. also as far as birthcertificate/copy of passport concern they gave us a letter what u need to gave us at the embassy
(they gave all the DCF people that letter as soon as u walk in and u have to put the document in order which they listed)
they said " copy of parents birthcertificate/ or copy of their passport) i gave both of them since i dont know what to do and they took it.

one thing is for sure that filing for parents are lot faster from delhi because i ask at the embassy how long it will take this to process and the lady said that one month?? thats fastt. while i ask other DCF people who were applying for their spouse the same lady told them it will take them 3 to 4 months. so i think this is the fastest way to call the over the parents.

i also emailed they DELHI when i came here before 60 days and they send me
the email which has all the requirements of filing I-130 if anyone interested email me on my email address and i can forward it to u also.

my email is shrenikiscool@yahoo.com email me if u have any questions regarding the DCF since i recently filed.
