Have green card (DB2). divorced and remarried again? How can I sponsor my spouse to come to usa?

Yes I got my green card through marriage. I mean to say I am on DV-2. I recently heard that there is a new law, through which you can file for your spouse's visa if you have green card and it will take 18 months. But as I am already on DV-2 and divorced how will that effect my situation. Thank you guys for your help.

DV2 is not really based on marriage per se; it is just a derivative application through the DV lottery. So sponsoring your new spouse would not be blocked by the restriction that applies to people who got their GC by marrying a permanent resident or citizen.

There is no new law like that. It just happens that they have been clearing the queue very fast in recent months, and now the backlog for the Family 2A category (spouses and under-21 unmarried children of permanent residents) has been reduced to 17 months as of the August bulletin (29 months if the spouse or child is from Mexico or Dom. Republic). However, historically it has been at 4-5 years, so you should not expect the 17 month time frame to remain like that; you should be prepared for it to go back to the usual 4-5 year wait.

But once you get citizenship, the application is moved to the "immediate relative" category for which there is no quota or backlog (but there is an upgrade process which can take some time). How far are you from being eligible for citizenship?
