Please HELP- Daughter and Sister American

My daughter is 12 years old and US Citizen. My Sister is also a US Citizen.

Me, my husband and son are now in US with B1/B2 Visa. We would like to stay in US. We were thinking to ask for asylum but I am wondering if we have another option due to family ties.

Thanks for the help

Sidet2010,
The Asylum seems more viable (specially being from Ethiopia).
I don't see any possibility to adjust your status through your kid or your sister. This is just my opinion not a legal advise.

Are you wondering how I came to know you are an Ethiopian?
Your nickname says it all.

Good luck sis!1

Got that right asylee_2007. I am from Ethiopia. Any member who is a lawyer or has gone through the asylum process, please give me some tips to head start the process. I will highly appreciate. Thanks for the advice. BTW I am still in a valid status until Jan 2010. This is my 4th time being in US

I am not sure if any of the forum's members are a lwayer ( I know I am not atleat). I went through the asylum process and it will be difficult to give you a tip since I don't know the basis you are filing your case with.

Asylum is not an option to "stay" in this country. If you have a valid claim of asylum, file it or wait till your daugther can sponsor you at the age(18).

if you apply for asylum & get rejected, you may get deported..and once your daugther files for you, a deportation order or deportation is looked bad upon during the approval process at the embassy & requires a waiver to be approved for an immigrant visa.
