Date of registration in the birth certificate...

Hi,
My birth was not registered as I was born in home (in India in 1973). I recently registered by using my school certificates (just in April, 2002). Does it matter to apply for 485? One of my freinds was telling me that the date of registration should not be so recent (it should be within couple of months from the date of birth). Is that true?

Please advice me regarding this. Any help is very much appreciated.

Get two affidavits from your parents/nearest relatives who born atleast 18 years before you born

I saw some cases like yours, got RFE at later stage. They took affidavits from their parents, ( one affidavit from mother, one from father) and submitted to INS while replying the RFE.

As your date of birth is already registered, no need of non availability certificate.

I am also in your situation, my attorney told me to take affidavits. My DOB was registered last year only.

Is it better to submit the affidavits when I submit the 485 details itself (or should I have to wait till I get a RFE)?
