I am currently in the US. I had completed my masters from here and started working on H-1 from Jan 2005. I had fixed an appointment for H1-B stamping at Chennai consulate in November with that H1-B approval details. Now after taking the appointment only did I notice that there is a mistake in my date of birth in my approval form (the mistake was cos of an error from my company's side). But in between I had moved from my company's Texas office to the NJ office and our legal attorney suggested that we file a new case cos all my profile/salary structure - everything had changed. Now to make the long story short, I have an appointment date for h1-b stamping with an h1-b approval that has my DOB wrong. Now if I go with the new approval (with the correct DOB but a different RECEIPT NUMBER ). Now the question is can i go for the stamping with the new H1-B form for the appointment which I had made with the old receipt number ?
FYI ... I still have the old approval form, just in case to explain to the people at the consulate what the situation is. Can someone please help me with this. It is very urgent cos I have already booked my tickets to India. Thanks.
