Hi,

We are planning to move to the US in July and send some of our furniture (not many) wooden things, coffe table, teakwood desk, some wooden decorative items, outdoor furniture, paintings, books, computer, tableware etc. For new immigrants there must be some custom tax exemptions. Do you know what to do for bringing belongings to the US? Does anybody here know about the custom regulation for new immigrants..?

U would probably have to ship those furnitures to the state. if i may suggest, u would save more getting rid of those furnitures in ur home country than trying to drag them over here.
 
They are not big furnitures, not a whole house furniture, they are valuable things that we cannot throw away and we cannot buy for a same price in the US.

U probably will be able to get them in as long as you are not planning on selling them.
 
It is really amaizing how valuable infos could one learn from this forum.
