Currently here in US under B2 visa marrying a US citizen

This is my third time here in the US. The first and 2nd time was under L1 visa. Currently, I'm here under B2 visa and met this guy who I fall in love with and already offered me marriage. We are planning to get married on Mar '09 because he is offshore due to work. My I-94 allows me to stay only until Apr '09. I've been reading threads which some recommends to getting back to home country and apply for K visa but we don't want to pursue that option. I've also read another option, which we want to pursue, that is to apply for adjustment of status after getting married. After all, we've got nothing to hide. I have no intention of getting married to any guy when I came here under B2 visa but then I met him and fell in love with him.

My question is what exactly are the forms needed to be filed and supporting documents for adjustment of status? Since the whole AOS process will also take time but my I-94 is expiring on Apr '09, what's the best way to deal with my visa so I won't end up overstaying while waiting for the AOS result?

Search the sub-forum "Family Based Green Cards". You will get the complete list of forms needed.

Thanks Triple Citizen. But how will I deal with my current B2 visa/I-94 expiring soon while waiting for the AOS result?

Hi there, I think we are on the same page but for me I was married to a permanent resident 5 years ago and now he just became a US citizen and I am here in the USA with our son (also a US citizen thru birth) and my husband is in the military. The thing is I've been comin here back and forth until last year which I decided to forfeit my B2 visa because for the fact that he'll become a US citizen this year, now I am out-of-status as they call it. My question is, what would be the best thing for me and my husband to do in getting a green card for me or changing my status to permanent resident? Please help.

Thanks much!

You should have started your own thread rather than hijack someone else's. Regardless, you should file for AOS after your husband takes his oath.
