We applied visa extension for our in-laws some 3 months ago in CSC center. The status has been 'pending' up until today. it now says Current Status: We mailed you a decision.

I'm wondering what does this mean? approved or rejected?
I know we can wait few more days and see the mail but I'm just wondering if anybody has similar experience.

Here is the full status from ins site:

UPDATE: The application was denied.

1) The reason they mentioned for denying was the reason for extension provided (traveling in US) doesn't come under the B visa nature blah blah.

2) it says they didn't initiate the "removal procedure" yet. But if the person don't leave U.S within 30days from the date the application was denied, removal procedure will be initiated.

I've another question -

The application was denied on 6/11/07 (we received by mail on 6/14)
But unfortunately I'm not finding airline tickets due to holiday season rush.

Questions :
1) Is it alright to leave 2 - 3 weeks after the denial date? i know nobody cares when we leave. but I'm asking about what would happen if the person wants to come to U.S after 1 or 2 years from now.

2) what would happen to the multiple entry (10 year visa). Do we have to apply a new visitor visa in our home country? or take chances POE during the next visit?

please post if you have good knowledge in these matters. no guesses please.

Robin,

Is this the first time you filed for extension or 2nd time?

Please advise.

Thanks,
