Hi Guys,

I received this mail today?

Any idea what that means?

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Document mailed to applicant.

On November 28, 2007 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.

Thanks
Manzu

"Document mailed to applicant" means that one of USCIS notices....did not get delivered to your address and went back to USCIS....

It's usually - Address Change Confirmation Notice, Fingerprint Notice etc......

Now, USCIS - what it will do - it will check AR11 database for updated address and forward the entire mail back to the adddress on the AR11 database....that's when this status email comes through....

If it's a Fingerprint notice...check with your lawyer - he will also receive a copy of it.....

hmmmmmm... Banta4GC... I hope what you are writing was meant to be a joke or otherwise funny... a smiley somewhere would help.

"Document mailed to applicant" is default message for AP approval. So it is approval. Banta4GC, don't mislead people.

That status is for exactly what it says : a Document is mailed...the document could be for a number of things (RFE, FP apt notice, denial etc). So there is no guarenteed way to know till u receive the doc in the mail. You could try calling the 800 number..I have heard that the phone system sometimes has moe detailed info that the online status.

I doubt it is an approval since for an the status is generally "Card Production Ordered" or "Welcome Notice sent" or "Approval notice sent"..that being said, YMMV.

getgreen,
This status is for a I485..not an AP...so (obviously) it cannot be be an AP approval. Note that an approval of an AP application results in a document (AP document). Hence when an AP is approved, a status of "Document mailed" could mean an approval..but for I485, the approval is a physical card (and not a document)

Friends,

I have had similar LUD for the AP applications filed. I guess they are approval notices. My LUD was on 26th Nov but have not got anything till date. Will update you all as soon as I see something in mail.

Wish you good luck.

Manzu,

I would suggest calling them to find out what it means. Use the POJ technique and call the USCIS service center.

I got the same situation and what Satish (alias Banta4GC) said fits exactly into my case.
