Current/Previous position needed for EVL?

I wanted to submit my 485 soon, since the dates just got current. My Current H1-B position is for a Web Graphics Designer, LC was applied for a Java Software Developer/Software Engineer.

Does the employment verification letter need to indicate proof of the current position or availability of a future position for which the LC was applied for?

The lawyer said pay-check stubs, W2's and bank statements would also be needed, but I don't see that on the 485 application form. My problem is that I'm getting paid above Level 1 of prevailing wage for a graphics designer but below level 1 for software engineer. Will this discrepancy prevent the 485 from being approved?

Any input would be appreciated!

An EVL needs to refer to the current position. The letter provided with the I-485 needs to refer to the future position.

I'm possibly confusing terms, I was under the impression that the letter submitted with the I-485 is called the EVL, if that's not the case, what is the purpose of the EVL?
