curious email from USCIS long after getting Green card

Hi ,

I got my GC back in 2006. A few days back I received an email from them. I've pasted it below
It's not yet time for naturalization. So I dont know what this email means.

The contents basically repeat what was sent when I actually got the GC approval, which is "we have sent a card , blah blah...".

Has anybody received such emails out of the blue? I heard these emails are generated when somebody is working on your case.

On July 10, 2006, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

To be safe, why don't you call the customer service number they listed and ask them what it's about.
 
I have got these emails couple of times. I assume, when the batch jobs run in the night, it sedns an automatic email to the approved cases also. This is a glitch in their jobs.

I did receive such emails in the past too.

This particular email was sent on a sunday at 3 pm. So I am guessing it is a glitch in the batch process.

As far as calling the customer support, I did call the customer support. She said it could be a mistake on their side.

I am currently on unemployment and drawing unemployment benefits. After I received the emails when I went to the unemployment benefits website to request my payment, there was a new question there which said -
"Are you a citizen of US?" - I answered no. I never had that question before.

that was why I was a little concerned . But like I said, I guess I will ignore it now.
