CSC I-824 Receipts/Approvals

Got receipt yesterday

I-824 mailed to CSC Sept 5
Receipt received by lawyer Nov 7.

Any more news on this?

My I-824 was filed in September (RD: 9/24). Do you know which division (I-824 has DIV I - DIV IV) does our I-824 fall in to? Also, how long does it take to process the I-824?

1) When was your 824 filed. (Is it CSC?)

2) What does \'within 30 days\' mean? Does it mean within 30 days of receiving the 824 receipt, the approval should happen? Is that right?
 
824 questions

The reason I am asking the questions is that: I am trying to get an idea as to how long does it take for the 824 to get approved. I am with Chennai consulate and Chennai does need the 824 approval (because it does not accept Attorney certified CP only the normal CP). I am presently in I140 stage - EB2 RIR applied 3 months ago - opted for 485 - and am trying to get an idea as to how long the whole CP thing will take. (I am also with CSC). Can you please give some idea?

I just got an email from my lawyer. He says nothing they sent to
CSC over the last 2+ months came back with a receipt notice.
They will try to call CSC.
In the meantime, they will send my stuff to the consulate (Warsaw, Poland)
without the receipt notice (clarification: my consulate grants you
an interview based on I-824 receipt notice)

My I-824 was filled arond Sep 10 - I don\'t know the exact date.
I don\'t really know what the 30 day thing means, but I would
agree with your interpretation. In the previous Processing
Time Report they said they were processing I-824s from July ---
I know, this whole thing doesn\'t make much sense.

Now, if you are in the I-140 stage, do you know that you can
(a) file I-824 before I-140 approval
or
(b) tell your lawyer to spend several hours on the phone
trying to reach somebody from INS and ask them to change
"I-485" to "CP" now. That way you could save 4+ months.

Thanks for your reply. I am not sure whether my lawyer will call INS for me. Hence I think I have to go to I-824, if I decide to go for CP. Btw. what is the total time that I am looking at, if I prefer to go for CP? (assuming I apply for I-824 now and I would like to get an approximate split up till I attend the CP interview)

Ok. My consulate is Chennai where I need to have the complete I-824 approval :) (No Attorney Certification CP allowed)

Hi-
My I-824 receipt date : July 11 2001 filed at CSC.
Still have not received the approval. Consulate is
Chennai. CP at Chennai requires approved I-824.
Can anyone let me know if they have received approvals
for I-824 around my I-824 receipt date.
Also, what is the current processing time. I read
in one of the latest report that it is like 30 days
after receving receipt

INS Received date: 12 sep 2001
Notice Date : 19 Nov 2001

Planning to apply for AC I-140 (Mumbai)

Hmmm, looks like CSC has lowest priority for I-824 cases! It\'s been three months. No approval yet (AVM says 870-880 days!). This Sucks... Has anybody called CSC to ask about the processing times?
