I-485 Finally Approved (really old case)
Hi All,

I must be the oldest I-485 case on these boards....Stopped following the boards a few months ago on accounting of being frustrated.

Well, I finally did get approved and my passport stamped. So there is hope....no matter how long it takes.

My unlucky cases statistics:

P.D: Dec 1997
EB3
I-485 : RD/ND: Both April 2001
Finger Print: Aug 2001
no RFE
Assigned to officer: Dec 2001

Finally approved: Aug 2002.

Good Luck to all.
And hope to see some of the old folks may be on the waiting for the plastic thread(s).

#4 Approval WAC 02-046

Approved: AmitB WAC 02-046-*****

Well guys! I got my approval notice in the mail today; the lawyer got it on Sep 3. Such a relief. Also got wife's approval with approval date of Aug 30 2002 for both of us. No RFE. FP location was Oakland early April. EB2 RIR

I was so frustrated with INS that I had stopped visiting this board for quiet sometime.

Instead of thanking everyone here on the board, I would like to take this opportunity to wish and pray a speedy approval for all those who are still waiting. Keep the faith.

Ciba and PCee: you guys have done a wonderful job in keeping all this info. organised so that all of us could benefit from it. I wish you guys all the success in any of your future ventures.

PCee: I hope your approval comes as fast as possible.

Overalll, the entire process took approximately 2 years (including labor).

I still can't believe the approval....

I485 Approved after SFO interview
Hi

I got transferred to SFO in March and got interview notice in late June. my interview date was September 4th at SFO.
(interview issue is change of employer)
WAC-01-264-XXXXX (RD June 2001)

at the interview, the officer asked several questions from the application form, like:
- have you ever been in jail?
- have you ever joined a terrorist organization
etc...

then he went over on asking when did I left the US, and what was my status each time. he asked if I was employed,
and I gave him employment letter from new employer and pay stubs. he didn't really investigate them.

overall, I can say the officer was very funky and acted as if he doesn't really care, it seemed like
he was asking the questions just for the protocol. very casual. it took approx 30 minutes.

by the way, and important detail:
I was on a leave of absence since Oct 2001 till July 2002, when I got a new job with the new employer. apparently
it was no problem. (I guess since I had EAD and was in applicant status)

in the end he said he will mail the result on Friday, which he did and it was approved.

2 years journey had come to an end, and it feels really good.

good luck to all of you!

AlexKoval was approved after SJ interview on Aug 28

Please do not bring this topic up unless you're posting a real approval!
This makes the the number of replies not to match approvals count and makes people read your meaningless messages.

This is an August approval:
WAC-01-288
A friend of mine working in the same company was approved after San Jose interview on August 28.
You can find the rest of the details in PCEE's September 2001 list (
under name AlexKoval)

I am posting this message sine he's lost an interest in this board as soon as he got approved.

I suspect that there is a substantial number of people who tracked their cases on PCEE's site and did not notice about their approvals.

Approved on SEP -3
Finally got approved after the 2 RFE on SEP -3. AVM didn't get
updated. Received the notices on SEP -6 and got it stamped
too on SEP -9.

There was one RFE for Emp verification and W-2's and paystubs.
Dtd 6/14

This had the WAC no of my I-140. instead of I-485 WAC.
Send the reply without noticing it. Later when I noticed, IIO told
us that it will get routed based on your A#. No need to worry.
Till 8/1 it didn't get updated in their system. Then we sent the
reply with I-140 Approval Notice copy, I-485 receipt notice copy
and requesting that our earlier response might have got lost.
This got updated in their after ONE day of receipt. My lawyer
argued them very much, regarding INS mistake etc.

Then INS issued the another RFE on 8/14 that Photographs are
not okay. (Though they issued the EAD with same photographs).
We sent the reply immly within a week. It got again updated
after one day of receipt in their system. i.e. on 8/23. And Finally
on 9/3 they approved it. I asked the stamping Officer also about
the same photographs. She said it's perfect. Lesson "Do not argue with INS". Whatever mistakes they do....
Unlikely I received the RFE for the Expeirence letters
for my I-140 also earlier. It was around a two year journey for
the complete process.

WAC -01 -283-XXXXX
EB-2, India.
AD 9/3

Pcee has gcnever in it's list. Pcee pl update my details.

Thx

#14 "carribean" WAC-01-266 Approved w/ RFE

WAC-01-266 Approved w/ RFE
I was hoping to see more approvals today when I drove to work on the highway, for those July, August and Sept mailers, and of course, those with ND prior to July.

Dear my friends, me and my wife' cases "have been approved" according to AVM 9/12 night!!!

Short version:
EB1,
China
WAC-01-266
MD, 8/2/2001
ND, 8/27/2001
AP, 09/2001
EAD, 11/2001
FP done, 2/26
RFE for medical, 7/17
RFE responded, 8/2
RFE received by INS/AVM, 8/12
AD, 9/12

Long verison:
Actually I was telling myself yesterday evening that the approval would not come until 2-4 more weeks waiting. Still, I could not help checking the AVM before going to bed, simly because that has become part of my daily life for the past 6 months.

Then entered my wife's WAC# first, heard the magic words: This case has been approved on 9/12. Entered my WAC# again: This case has been approved on 9/12. I repeated the messages 5 more times, and feel still not enough, so took a camcorder to record the whole process: Dialed 1-949# which everybody on this board remembers by heart, waited for greeting, pushed button 1 twice without a pause, enter the WAC#, Waited for the disappointed Blah Blah - except this time!!!

Thanks God! My sincere thanks to those so willing to share info on this board, and I am so grateful to those who have always encouraged others, whether or not they themselves were lucky. There are so many people to remember, but I do hope one of our outstanding fellows, PCee, your approval to come if not tomorrow then in the next 2 weeks!

Hang on there, all July, August and Sept mailers and earlier, your approvals are on the way.

My best wishes!

Carribean
