Please add any new CSC I-485 approvals to this thread. Post only approvals to this thread so that it can be used (kind of data/summary tracking) to see recent approvals.

If you see any CSC I-485 approval any where on this board please post it to this thread with all the info (if it is not already posted to this thread). Please follow below guidelines while posting.
1. In the subject line, give it running serial number, member name (that got approved), and the subject line.
2. Entire text of their approval message (cut and paste including headers)
3. Please also provide a Link to that aproval thead/post (it helps a lot in maintaining summary as well as users can goto that thread to ask questions).

Also refrain from any other discussion (apart from just posting CSC I-485 approvals) in this thread so that we can keep it lean.

Some stamping experience
Your I485 approval notice stated you can go to San Jose office for stamping any day from Monday to Thursday 07:30am - 11:00am
Some days office can be closed so check BCIS web site for closed days
Arrived to office in 6:50am, main line was about 130 people, stayed in appointment line (was second),
7:00 door opened; show my approval notice to guard as appointment notice.
Then went to information window and took number, wait some time. Was called to window gave away I131s, I765s, I94s, 2photo, I485 courtesy copy of approval notice, passport.
Asked what company for I am working now. May be it was because I had 4 I94s; one for F1status and 3 for 2 companies H1s.
Index fingerprint was taken on two copy of I89 form, and I've signed them. Then again wait for sometime and my passport was given back to me. Was out at 7:50.


Some other experience

- Employment base adjustment of status is a very long process. My I485 priority date is 08-29-2000.
- Don’t rely on your lawyer, always ask copy of all papers he is going to send and check them by yourself. Lawyer sometimes doesn’t pay attention to numbers. I received RFE for LC because of lawyer typo error. I could check that and save 3-4 months of waiting time. I also received RFE for I140 for EB2 category. Before sending I140 I asked lawyer to change category for EB3, but he didn’t. So he changed it to EB3 but after RFE received, which was result in 3-4 months more waiting time. But to be honest lawyer knew something that I didn’t know. So filing by myself I would just make another errors.
- Send documents, which usually asked for RFE with initial petition, even it doesn’t required by BCIS. I sent my W2 and tax returns with I485 and didn’t asked for them when RFE for I485 was received. For now known list of such document is. For I485 - W2, tax returns for 3 years. For I765, I131 for dependent applicant copy of marriage certificate, copy of I140 of principal applicant.
- If you I485 more then one years old send new EVL letter as amended petition by yourself, don’t wait for RFE. Sending it by myself I could save 6 months.
- If you FP are 15 months old sent fax to BCIS requesting new FP notice.
- Think to join to Kashmir’s project

Folks,

Just to let you know, my wife's case was approved yesterday. Follow on case. My case was approved in Feb 2002.

We applied for her in November 2001, after marriage.

ND : 12/7/2001
FP : 01/2002

Nothing happened until 2 months ago, when I wrote to both Senators Boxer and Fienstien. Boxer's office actually called to find out more details. I am in the Military Reserves, so that probably invited a fast response from both offices.

2nd FP : 2 weeks ago (prompted partially, I think, by the Senators intervention)

Approval yesterday (it was not updated until this morning). Again, this was follow on case, mine approved almost 2 years ago.

RFE send: 10/30/2003 (2001 and 2002 W-2 forms, EVL and three paycheck stubs)

Finally I'm approved. Took about 2 years on 485.

My apologies to everyone I have offended, especially gulti bhai log. (Ok 140 ki behan log also). Apologies for all the leg pulling I've done - not that I will quit doing it. But I will continue to apologize.

Biggest thanks to Rajiv for providing such a wonderful forum without which I feel this wait would have been much tougher.

I have a few questions though. What can I expect next?

a) Will my lawyer get an approval notice too, or just me?

b) My stamping will be in LA, do I have to get appointment for stamping? How does all that work?

c) What kind of questions/documents they might ask during stamping? I noticed that VicktorK (another recent approval on immigrationportal) was asked that "What company do you work for now?". Well, I've personally changed jobs and have moved to the east coast. Could it create an issue if I told them? (You can't get this stamped here, go to blah blah wherever etc. etc.). What other questions can I expect.

d) I have an H1 notice of approval, which is still valid, but I never got it stamped on my passport, could that create a problem of any kind?

e) If you could explain the next steps, also how long before I get the plastic card?
