With great pleasure and happiness, I would like everyone know that my case has been approved.

Some technical details

2nd FP: received Nov 4, 2003, done Nov 5, 2003

Everyone on this forum has been a great help and a source for mutual encouragement. I also wish all of you get your cases approved soon, as I believe you guys are the best and brightest. You deserve such a award.

I would like pay tribute especially to Kashmir for his great contribution to this community. It is his selfless hardwork that has inspired us to keep a little hope. Please support his Projects that are underway. Kashmir, Please take my solute!

Personally, I just got married and do not have any plan in the near term. I have thought about moving out of Bay Area. Maybe one day I will be in East Coast to meet with Silly Man. However, my wife is still working her Fine Arts degree. (She is an aitist, not a programmer). Most likely that I will stay around for a while.

I will see you guys around

Case Approved
My Case WAC-02-130-***** is Approved.

some details

1st FP: July 2002
1st RFE: Oct 2002 (pay stubs, w2 forms, company financials)
2nd RFE: Dec 2002 (Medical)
2nd FP: Oct 2003
3rd RFE: Oct 2003 (EVL)
Case Approved: Nov 2003
Stamped: SFO

Some tips From my experience:

1) Check your online status periodically, may be once every two weeks. It happened to me that my attorney never received my 2nd RFE, luckily I checked the online status, and asked my attorney to fax an inquiry, the RFE reply was sent just before 90 days period expired.

2) If you are going to SFO for stamping, better go early to avoid the long line, they open 6:45 am. My story was that I got there 10:30am, had to wait in the line for almost 2 hrs just to get the serving ticket, the whole thing took me about 4 and half hours. FYI, the people works there told me that it was not busy yesterday, I wonder why, may be many people are getting their notice at the same date.

This is a great forum that people are willing to share their status and experiences, people are getting very useful information, I am certainly one of the beneficiaries, Thank you all for doing so.

Good Luck!

Dear Friends,

Priorirty Date : Feb 16, 2001
Labor app lost in Fed. reconstructed. (Details below this info.)
I - 485
NtcDt: Dec 10, 2001
RctDt: Dec 27, 2001
Changed jobs in July 2002
AOS portability filed: Aug 26, 2002
2nd Finger prints submitted : Oct 10, 2003
Rfe rcd: Oct 24, 2003 ( pay stubbs, w4s, Emp ltr)
reply to rfe filed: Nov 7, 2003
Approval mailed from Laguna Niguel : Dec 11,2003.
( There is no date on the notice of action)
I recieved the courtesy copy at my mailing address. I have not heard from the attorney's office yet. The online message still says, they have recd my reply to Rfe on Nov 12, 2003.

I retained same attorney to represent me through out the process for AOS and Portability.
I took opinons from two other Law offices while changing jobs.

I filed my own EADs/APs.

I used my friend's permanent residence as mailing address.
(Filed AR11s few times during 485 process.)

Labor App Lost in Sacramento.

In Feb 2001, people were getting labor approved in 3 weeks.
I filed labor in Feb 2001 and a month after, I started bothering the Attorney for action as no information came, neither approvalnor denial.
My reasearch showed that labor applications do get lost between state and federal offices. A bunch of 35 apps from Oracle were lost in June to July 1999.
After bitter fights with the attorney, I got a meeting scheduled with the liason offifcer, and they agreed that the app., was lost and agreed to reconstruct it. It was approved in a week after that.
But precious time was lost and guys who filed their labor a month after mine, March 2001, got their GCs last Dec.

3 months of delay had very bad cacading affects. 140 got more delayed. and you know the way 485s stalled. 911 Effects came to play..

If I did not make make life uncomfortable for the attorney, and pushed her to have an interview with the liason officer, I would still be counting sheep.

Moral of the story: Nobody else bothers about your case as much as you do. And should you know there is trouble upstairs, if the house is suddenly silent.

Well,
Dher hai, Andhere nahi ! (Gulti Hindi...)
Delyed but not denied ! (Plain English...)

Frankly, I used to think I was always on top of things before the Labor issue and the cascading delays. This experience made me humble and I think, a better person.

...
May God bless all those who helped me here with the information and advice. God bless all those whoose approvals are still coming.

Regards,
Gopal

Finally. there was indeed some light at the end of tunnel.

Thanks to PCee, Vipsha, Kashmir, Edision, SM, 140_takes_4ever and everybody else.

One (free) piece of advice to everybody- Forget Senators. Talk to your Congressman/Congresswoman. Congress-person deals with a lot lesser population and hence are able to respond reasonably.

Approved
It is with utmost jubilation and excitement that I get to inform the esteemed co-immigrationportal-addicts that the coveted day finally arrived for me (regretfully, not for my spouse, who is actually the priamary applicant).

Our story:
WAC02047....
Applied 10/23/01
FP 05/12/02 (both)
Second FP notices issued (both right after lawyers sent requests): around 10/01/03 and 10/15/03
Resumed: 10/17/03 and 10/28/03
RFE issued (to primary applicant): 11/01/03 (w2 and 1040 for 3 years, 3 paystubs, EVL)
RFE received 12/10/03
Approved 12/16/03 between 5pm and 7pm PST (dependant)
Primary : still says "RFE received"

I stopped visiting this forum regularly after we received the second FP notices -- before that my greatest fear was that our applications were shredded in the infamous incident and I was looking for clues on the general trend. Besides, Kashmir stopped posting his scan results to the lazy slobs like myself. I would like to thank everybody who reported on their progress (or lack of such). Regretfully, I will not get to vote in 2008 general elections, but at least now I can contribute to help take the monkey away from the red button.

Excitedly,

EvenBiggerFanOfBCIS

Primary Approved, Derivative Pending
Hello Everyone,

I would like to start this thread and invite everyone to post their details and experiences who are in the same boat as myself.

These are my details:

We married a month before my husbands GC was approved. Thus I was able to file my AOS as a derivative. I have also had one fingerprinting.

My husbands GC got approved in Apr 2002, but since 2 years there hasnt been any news from INS for my pending 485.

WAC-02-143-5XXXX

It would be great to know who all are having similar case as mine.
