Good luck to you all.

My parents Visa Extension approved at CSC too. I received the mail yesterday.

Applied on(E-File): Apr 07, 2005
I-94 Expiry Date: May 12, 2005
Approved on: July 11, 2005
Received mail on: July 14, 2005
Reason: Medical, need more time to visit places.

This is the second visit for them. Last time they visited in 2001 for 6 months. They got 10 yr multiple entry visa last October.

Note: The online Case Status check has not been updated yet. :)

That's what the letter says i.e. it takes about 90-120 days to process this application. Texas (TSC) seems to be faster than California (CSC).

when is the right time to apply

hello ,
congrats for getting the extension.
jus wanted to ask the small stuff- when exactly can we apply for the extension, ur application dates seems that abt 1 month window from expiry date helps. can we apply say 2 months prior to expiry I94.
this way round we may save ourselves from overstaying in case the extension is rejected.
am i thinking on the right track??? moreover if as usually the decision comes late , can we defend ourselves by saying that as the rejection came late hence i overstayed waiting for the decision by default.
advice appropriately

Read the following link

http://www.immihelp.com/visas/extend.html

It says ...

"It should be applied between about 4 to 6 weeks before I-94 expires. "

and that's what I did. Some say if u apply earlier the officer may think that you had previously planned on extending the visa and he/she may reject on that ground.

Good Luck.
