485 processing at CSC used to the best among all the service center.Just six month back I used to see 5-7 approvals a day
on this and other forum.
But Now-a-day as you might know it is difficult to find even a single approval a day.
Share your thought on what is the reason that processing is so
slow ?
some time back though i had seen burst of approvals comming from csc. how do that happen?
Is this slow down because of the year end( lots of holidays)?so the processing is usually dull.

INS CSC sucks man.

looks like there is no incentive for CSC to approve AOS cases. at least they could ask what they want instead of delaying the cases indefinetely. i'm really sick of this waiting. i've been waiting since 8/01.

i wonder what's the top attorneys think of this. can't they do something? don't tell me the same old crap that every case is different and hence the delays.

I don't know whats the reason, but

a) These people do have the potential to speed up.
b) They won't speed up unless kicked in their ass.

We need to be pro-active as a group and give them a reason to work.

We should bring this to public attention

Hi,

CSC has the capability of approving 485s at a faster rate. At the peak time - 1 year back, my friends got their approvals in 5 months. There are only very few EB 485s pending with CSC, now. Inspite of that we are seeing no approvals. There is a definetly a specific reason in holding back all EB based approvals. May be money (renewal app.fees) or political (change in immg.policy). We should write to senators, public figures, and also bring this to the attention of the media. People like us are just hanging on to their jobs, hanging to life, living in apts, and living a wretched life. I don't think we are pursuing an American dream. Just another nightmare !!

reasons?

well, I guess 9/11 certainly changed things a good bit - esp. ever since someon in INs approved a visa for Atta & friends - I think they are being ultra careful now to prevent any more such events from occuring - of course, this ends up penalizing more innocent, law abiding chaps like us...

some one else was wondering if concurrent filing had also increased their load - I would think perhaps not...

also, wonder if they are its got to do with home land security thingy - restructuring???

what about them concentrating now on other items on their plate..I noticed that H1Bs (I129s) seem to be taking 5 months or so...from the JIT...

I think this is due to the...

I think this is due to the spurge of people from the LIFE act - the illegal immigrants who file on April 30, 2001. The max came to CSC, and they are choking the system - my guess.

Strangely the bottleneck seems to be around the turn of year. (October), and not around April. Is there a way to confirm if a lot of family based people are getting approved?

Will Processing reduce?

Guys,
CSC undergoes its peaks and valleys, the processing time sometime ago ( I think about a year ago was max 6 months), it is slowly creeping up.
What are your thoughts on the Homeland security act, Once the INS is split, my gut feeling is that the times will just continue to increase. They cant function smoothly now, nothing makes me feel that they will improve once they have to co-ordindate between the bigger umbrella.

All we can do is hope and pray....

Thanks.

Depends on the details of the bill. Are there any measures in it that directly affect INS? BTW, with republican majority now things are gonna move fast, and bush will sign them quick.

can we send a petition ....

how about sending a formal petition from all of us - the 485 club members of CSC - to John Ashcroft?

If we express our problem in simple terms, and express our concern genuinely, I think it could work. Many of us are stuck in this state for 365 days or more.

I also think we need to contact the AIMA lawyers - those who are active - say Murthy, Khanna, Shusterman etc. and appeal to them what the best course of action.

Our only request is we need to know what additional information does INS needs from us (the 485 filers) to expedite.

The idea is not create problems for INS, but find a solution to the delays.

Sri, your idea is processing efficiency. Their idea is national security.

Take a break.

Can you hear me now? Good.
