I am observing very low rate of posting here today. Think everybody is into IND vs SL match...;-)

njoy...live life.
 
They should not have given so many extras

Too many extras...India should not have given so many ....

Bajji should have done some work with his spin, anyway SLs are good in spin.

256 is a good target to defend for SLs, especially since vaas and murali are playing.

Jayasuriya is always good at getting tendulya....

I think shewag should pile up some good runs. Don't know about uthappa....I think the first 10 overs we should have min 60+ only then we can relax against murali and jayasuriya. Everybody should pitch in & show them what we can do with the bat.

India's and to a certain extent Pakistan's cricket has effectively retrogressed in quality by 5 years.

Frankly Tendulkar should be deported. Birthright citizenship should not apply in his case! A 3 ball duck when the country needed him most!
 
Seriously....look at Murali from SL, he always delivers when there is a need. A champion should always deliver when there is a need. Sachin is not doing that anymore. Why should be play the next world cup? Why should he be the next captain.

Don't want to go anywhere near Murali and all the nauseous arguments around him but regarding Tendulkar , he's become a leech nothing more, his once in a blue moon tons are meaningless and aren't towards victories, most of which are made in dead rubbers.
India must be the only country (barring Pakistan) where past glory means something so much that one is guaranteed a place in the team. Try telling that to the Steve Waughs of the world, who came off a terrific fighting ton in England and dropped even then to make way for an Aussie plan of restructuring.
Goes to show a plan without guts in implementation means piddle if anything else.
I believe for Indian cricket to remain consistent the following needs to happen soon,
  • Remove political patronage and businessmen from the boards.
  • Remove non performing aging stalwarts.
  • Create a board consisting of entirely ex players.
  • Select players on recent performances not on emotion
  • Everyone and I mean everyone is worth their salt in the last inning not beyond - PERIOD!
  • Recharge team with young talent, make Yuvraj captain immediately
  • Improve training dramatically and upgrade coaching facilities, they just signed on Nimbus and Nike for 1B$ for Godsake, so there is money in abundance.
 
I agree dude!! I also believe that there are some aging players that should be pushed out, no matter what give young blood a chance. Shewag needs to move, it does not matter what he is doing right now, he wasted enough.

Tendulya good bye thanks for what you have done, take some rest, enjoy what you earn outside cricket and what you made previously.

Retrogression is like a cricket match b/w Democrats and Republicans, where the viewers are PRs/Americans and we are the ones waiting to get in the stadium where the tickets(visas) are all consumed; tickets are sold by per country limit.

Per that analogy, the stadium can and eventually will get full, then at that point no one can enter, lets hope thats not the case here.

Which is worse?

The fact that India is out of world cup or the fact that these idiots somehow tried to have sneaked into finals and would have beaten Australia or some other good team and won the world cup.

That would have been like a slap in the face of cricket. No wonder weaker teams loose in the first round. I do not understand why Sachin and the like still show up for the matches. Morons.

Bangladesh should never have become a Test playing nation, a few one day wins here and there is hardly enough to warrant such an ascension.
SL had a much stronger cricketing tradition than Bangladesh as evidenced by its performances.

I always have issue with seeded players/teams getting eliminated in first round, because of one bad day......because that leaves not much competition to the survivors...

but lets see....who know bangladesh may come out as the new tiger....(pardon my ignorence...i have not been following cricket since 4-5 years...)

and if ireland also gets some good coverage....its good for the game of cricket..
 
However, we may say...Cricket is a fair bit of luck...

Look at Semis/Finals....the lucky team on that day goes onto win the world cup....(Do you remember Aus moving forward to Final thanks to the tie with SA??)

If they really want to remove luck out of it...they should at least make Semis/Finals as Best of 3...any takers???
