Credit card bill....

I'm not sure if this is the most appropriate place to ask but I think some of you here might have an answer to this so I'll take my chance.
I recently got a credit card and wanted to add my USC spouse's name onto it, so that we can have more doc for our citizenship interview in the future. But I just called the Bank of America and they told me that there is no way to add her name onto my creditcard bill? When I was at the bank to apply for the card, they told me that I cannot open credit jointly but what I can do is once I get my own, I can add her as an "authorized user", which is exactly what I did, but apparently although she will get a credit card through my account, her name still won't be on the bill. How can I fix this? Different bank? I have Bank of America credit.

Credit cards are usually issued to one person and the spouse is an authorized user, not a joint account holder. Find out if your spouse will get a card with her name but same card number - that will be a good way to prove joint financials.

Regular bank accounts(checking, saving, CD) and investment accounts do allow joint holding and statements will show both
names.

Joint auto insurance is another thing that you can consider.

Thanks for the response.
They did tell me that she will get a credit card which is under my credit account. Not sure if the exact same card # but same account anyway. It's just that they also told me her name wouldn't be on the credit card bill itself although she has a card to it.
We have joint checking & savings account at the moment, along with other docs.

Ask the bank if the card number will be the same.

If you have checking and saving accounts held jointly, you should be fine. A credit card does not add much value to your docs requirements.

Citi usually gives credit cards with same account number and the statement will have both names. Both the credit cards will have different names though.
