I am a graduate student at University of Utah, completing my MS this summer (defending but not grduating officially by the end of June). I have been working as RA for almost two years and now I have got an internship offer from a company to work for 45 hours for four months, starting in July. My question is that can i work on CPT for 40-45 hours outside while registering for 12 credit hours (full time student) in summer semester. Summer semester ends in first week of august and my advisor will be paying me this entire summer semester.In order to get paid by advisor, i have to register for 12 credit hours (research and thesis credit hours only, no course). so is it possible to get a CPT in the middle of summer semester (July) and work for this company for 40 hours and i want my advisor to pay me till june only coz i will not be working for him in july.
I know it seems really complicated situation but your immediate suggestions will be highly appreciated.
