Dear guys,

With all your wishes, our GC was apporved
in Montreal consulate on 14th Dec.

Everything went on smoothly.

The interview was short. The lady officer only
asked few questions about the company and my work.

Before the interview, we were asked to submit some
documents such as Original Birt certificate,
Marriage certificate, employment letter, affidavit
of support, IRS 9002 and last year tax transcript.
Photos and passport were also submitted.

Port of entry was also a good experience. Two different
officers handled my wife\'s and my papewrs separately,
I guess to save time.

If you have any specific questions, I will be glad to
answer.

Lot of people were successful on that day, including PanjabSingh
(yes I met him in consulate, He said he will share his wonderful
experience once he get back)
Regards,
Eelavan.

Congratulations!

Have a great post-GC life!

Looks like the lady officer is the only one at Monteal still, which
is good news.

Was there a big line-up in the morning? I have my interview in
a few days, and was just wondering what time I should show up at
the gates (have an 8:30AM interview), don\'t really enjoy staying out in
the Monteal december cold if I can avoid doing that.

Montreal maps online?

Any pointers to good Montreal maps online? Trying to figure how to get around that city, in particular, from the Medicals place to the Consulate.

Re: POE & Medicals

The POE was "1000 Islands" (in between Montreal & Toronto - off Hwy 401)

The medicals was done in Toronto at "Dr. Howard Seiden & Associates"
They had the reports ready same day. I had my brother-in-law who works
in downtown collect them the following day.
Please don\'t hesitate to ask any q\'s.
Regards,
Eelavan

Re: Congratulations!

Hi Torontorian,

My interview was at 9:15, but We were there only at 9:00.

But I guess it is better to go early, because it is FIFO
(first in first out) regardless of the interview time. You will
be given a number at the time you enter and then you will be
called by the number.

I don\'t know what time they open.
Good Luck , you\'ll be fine.
Eelavan.

Where to get Fingure Prints

Congrats and thanks a lot for your continued help. I am a canadian citizen, presently living in Raleigh, NC. Can you please help me about RCMP Police Clearance. I am planning for finger print based clearance as it costs less and I have enough time to get my I-140 approved. Where can I get fingure prints done. Is it any police Station, or I should go to speicific address?

Hotel address and POE ?

Congrts for your successful CP. We will have the interview next month. Where do you stay in Montreal? Which POE do you use for entry?
Where do you take the pictures for the medical check up in Toronto? Also the picture for the consulate?
Thanks.

Re: Hotel address and POE ?

Thanks.
1) We stayed with our friends.
But there are hotels in the downtown. I guess,
There is a Days inn at walking distance.
I know PanjabSingh was staying in one of the hotels.
So wait few days, till he is back to this board.

2) POE was "Thousand Islands" near Kingston,Ontario (off Hwy 401)
this is in between Montreal and Toronto.

3) We took all our photos in the local studio where we
live(New Jersey). The photographer is well aware of the specifications. He had all the instructions sheets
for pass port/immigration photos with him.
We saw a "one hour photo" shop near Dr. Howard Seidens in
Toronto.

Re: Where to get Fingure Prints

First visit RCMP(Royal Canadian Mount Police) web site as follows:

RCMP\'s website
-------------------------------------------------------
http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/
follow these links
        CRIMINAL RECORDS INFO
        Civil Fingerprinting Services
How to Obtain a Certified Criminal Record Check
- - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - --- - - -- - - - -
You have to set up an appointment with the Police station in
the town where you live for a finger printing.
They may not be used to doing finger print for this purpose
(to send it to Canada). So you may have to show the instructions
from RCMP site, saying that the Finger printing has to be done at
the local police office.

If they ask which Finger Printing card to be used, say FBI card
is ok. You have to take a photo ID to the Police station.

Then you will forward this card with a Money order to RCMP.
It will take 6 weeks for them to process it and send the
results to you.
To expedite send it by FedEx with a paid - self addressed return
FedEx envelope.

Eelavan.

Eelavan, which documents?

Did you require original or copies of i140, labor certificate, etc?
Did you carry educational degrees, transcripts, etc?
Did you take tax returns, W2s, tax transcripts, etc?

Thank you for you help.

Re:Eelavan, which documents?

Dear GC_Beggar,
I carried all of the above and more.
But only the following were asked.
 1) Original Birth certificates
 2) Original Marriage certificate.
 3) IRS 9003(the yellow form)
 4) Last year tax transcript.
 5) Employer\'s letter
 6) New Police reports(see the reason for this one of my other posting)
 7) Affidavit of support for my wife as she is dependent on me.
(I had a notorized Affidavit of support)
I took all supporting Doc\'s for the Affidavit of support -Bank statements, Recent appraisal of the home, Dead of the house etc,
but none of this was asked.

Montreal Consulate Address?

I have just received my packet IV today. I do not see the address of the Montreal consulate included. Would you please post it. Thanks.

Also the letter said that "the total feee for each successful visa applicant is US $325.00 (the application fee of US. $260.00 and issuance fee of U.S. $65.00)". From what I have read from the discussion group, you guys only pay US $65.00. Where is the US $260.00 coming from? My company\'s lawyer handled all the applications for me. I do not know if I really need to pay for $260.00. Anyone has an explain, please post.

Thanks.

POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

I sent in my Packet 3 on July 31 2001. My PCC had come in on June 16th 2001. My interview is on Jan 17th 2002 , do you think I should get a new PCC??. I so how do I go about doing that??

No Title

Its too late for a fingerprint one since it takes at least a month to get it. If you want you can get the name based PC in one day from Montreal for $20. Its from a place called "fingerprint international" located in the lower level of the "Guy Favreau" building on Rene Leveque Boulevard. This is the building where the Passport Office is located.
Good Luck

Plastic card received

Hello fellow CPs,
It is after three weeks of entry, we got our actual
green cards.

POE was Thousand Islands off of Hwy 401 between Montreal
and Toronto.

Eelavan
