My wife has lived in Jaipur (20+ yrs) and Bombay (6 months 12 days) in India before coming to US. For PCC, can she just take RPO Jaipur\'s PCC or she needs RPO Bombay\'s PCC or both ?

Since she is currently in India, Indian consulate cannot give her PCC.

PCC from RPO where her passport was issued

I am no CP guru, but IMO she needs clearance from only the RPO where she got her passport. That will eliminate the need to trace all the cities where one would have lived. It is the RPO\'s responsibility (ideally) to check various cities where she has lived.

Jaipur Should be enough

As she has lived there for over 1 year since attacining age 16.
She did not spend a whole year in Bombay.
And As mukul said passport authorities should have done the check anyway

If getting PCC from India

as per their notification, you need
1. PCC from RPO that issued the passport
2. If the passport was issued more than 6 months back, an additional clearnace from the local police station.

So in your wife\'s case, I would say, PCC from Jaipur (assuming thats where the passport was issued) and one from the local police in Mumbai (this may not be the same format as the one issued from the PO though). Please check Mumabai interview threads for experiences of people who have tried to get this. I\'ve heard Mumbai is not so strict on the lcoal police thingee, but Chennai is.

Bombay Local police stn - dont give PCC

wantgc has posted a scan, indicating to this effect.

Thanks anyway guys, that gives me confidence in my steps taken.
