Parent received Covid stimulus check in her name from IRS at the US address of their son. Green card holder parent is overseas for extended trip (has an approved re-entry permit). What are GC holder parent's options in depositing the check?
Can he deposit in his overseas account and will he receive the money there?
The check states that it's valid for up to a year, parent is planning to travel back to US in a few months, he can open an account in the US and deposit in the US bank.
