Couple of questions about form N-400

Okay, so this might be a long post, but i really could use some advice as i am getting confused the more I read.
So my husband and I have been married since JUNE, 2004. He got here on December 24, 2004.His green card says resident since December 24, 2004. So first i want to make sure that September 24, 2007 is when we can file the N-400, right? It is what i understood, but i dont want to have to pay them twice.
Second, i have a question about filling out the form. The first thing you fill out on the form is your GIVEN name. The next thing says to print your name exactly as it appears on your Permanent Resident card, even if it is misspelled. My question is what name on the PR card do you use. At the top of the card his the name and they only use the letter A. for his middle intial. At the bottom of the card they have his name but it gets cut off. So which do i do, use the one initial or write it like the bottom of the card? I called USCIS to ask but they lady had no idea.
My last question is about the documents to send with the N-400. I was wondering if i have to send 3 years of tax returns? My husband didnt work in 2004 , i had work a few months, so when we filed for 2004 it was joint. Now my problem is that i dont have a copy anywhere of the 2004 taxes. I just realized this and to get a transcript from the IRS will take 2 weeks and we have to send the application before then. So would i be fine just sending taxes from 2005 and 2006, or do i have to send them from 2004 to?
Sorry for such a long post and i really hope someone can help.
Thanks!

If you are a US citizen, your husband could apply three years of PR minus 90 days. If I were you, I would apply in the end of September. Some posters said that the officer did count the number of days during the interview to make sure they didn't apply too early.

Print his name just like it appears on the top of the card.

If you don't want to wait for the copy of your 2004 transcript, just mail everything first. They will notify you if any document is missing. I would rather wait for the copy and send everything together. That way, nothing will go missing or misplace while they wait for your other documents.

3/15/07 - Priority Date
3/30/07 - Fingerprint notice
4/19/07 - Fingerprint appointment
5/7/07 - Interview Notice
6/21/07 - Interview Date
7/2/07 - Oath letter received
7/12/07 - Oath Ceremony

You don't have to send the n-400 application at 90 days, that is just the earliest you can send it. You can wait a year or more if you care to.

I'd wait for the tax transcript if I were you.

Dear all,

I sent N400 last friday. I just sent N400, copy of GC ..
Anyway, I don't have issues with taxes returning filing in past..
I did not attach copy of any year's tax return..
Is that a problem? thanx...

Why on earth do you think you have to send in the application in less then 2 weeks? You could wait 10 years to file that application, so you don't have to submit it at all in 2 weeks.

Usually they want the tax reciept proof at the actual interview anyways. You may need it for the mail in now, I'm not sure. I can't recall if I had or not. Either way, just order them and then when you get them file for the N-400...
